Ancient Chain Making
Carole is an advanced jewellery making student who has engaged with the very demanding task of making a silver chain using the techniques of the ancients.
Here you can see images of how the process is begun. A copper ‘tail’ is soldered to the first set of loops. This allows the craftsperson to easily handle and manipulate the addition of the loops. Warning: do not attempt this project unless you love repetitive work and have extreme patience!
